leakage

i'm becoming more and more unaware of time as i kept on misjudging arrival times of my long distance travels.
left home at 4pm, assuming i'll get to London by 7pm.
of course, being sick and stupid, i totally didn't put into consideration that rush hour starts at 3:30pm nowadays and got stuck somewhere on 401.
took a panic detour into 407 for 2 junctions without knowing that i'm actually heading into the Hamilton direction rather than straight west.
sigh...
got to the rehearsal at 7:15pm.
again, being stupid, i didn't prepare food to eat so i had to buy a muffin from Timmie's so i won't starve to death in the rehearsal.
i've only had 4 bowls of congee the whole day.
luckily without taste buds 'cause i'm ever so sick, i couldn't taste how bad that muffin is. i really don't like the food they have in Timmie's.

now i only have 1/8 tank of gas, no lunch, and no dinner for tomorrow.
however, i do have a shit load of drugs in my bag.
let's see... tynenol regular strenght, tynenol cold day/night extra strength, strepsils, DM, advil, and tons of halls. also a few packs of those chinese herbal teas for early cold symptoms.
too stuffy now.. better get off and go to bed for the morning rehearsal.

i'm officially sick

this is familiar...
aching jaw line, teeth, muscles, and head. plus difficulty inhaling, and an irritated oesophagus.
even my dad told me to take some of his DM medicine.
i've taken an allergy pill last night which should last till tonight, so ruling out the symptoms from allergies.
really shouldn't have eaten that curry chicken last night and this afternoon. but it was so delicious and addictive!
this time i'm gonna go with over the counter western medicine. can't afford a chinese doc no more.
and of course, sleeping before midnight is a must.

on a happier note, i spent the whole day arranging the Beethoven romance.
1 down, dozens more to go!

minor grunts

i'm truly amazed at how people who work at PC Financial's customer service don't know how to truly help people.
don't get me wrong, i'm not saying they're stupid. i've talked to a few nice people there, well, the Canadian ones anyway.
but they really don't know their system well enough.
long story made short, i had to get the job done with my own brain power and tell those people how to do their job.
they should really pay me instead with their paycheque.

it's a long and collaborative process to plan out the Banff trip.
but i think we're on the right track.
just have to get a lotta things straighted out and booked before we board the plane and kiss Ontario goodbye.

got tons of arrangements to do before the end of the month... which is in 2 days...
and that big copying job is still at the tip of the iceburg.
hope i can get everything done soon!!!

yes, it's 3am and i'm still awake... the sleep time for the past few days has been sabotaged.
and i'm having this ridiculous cough that's making my pipes sore.
hopefully it's not a cold that my dad is infecting the whole house with.

pissed at yet another company

i spent almost 3 hours trying to figure out how to register for that fucking mastercard securecode thing.
why? 'cause strangely the card doesn't approve my attempt to purchase a $421 round trip ticket on AC.
i called the card centre 2-3 times, with the same probably indian guy answer the phone.
he's not of any help, neither was the probably indian woman at the security department.
so i've sent an email to both pc financial and mastercard's securecode departments asking for help.
fuck this. ruined my sleeping hours again.
will have to call again tmr morning so i won't get an indian person.

strangeness

had a very bizarre dream last night.
i was somehow greeting the queen at my old apartment in hk and also escorting her around like a body guard.
we went to a huge warehouse that turned into an art gallery and market. pretty much like the distillery district.
there was a dart shooter there who shoots out poisonous darts in semi-slow motion. the queen caught the first dart by hand, and then the shooter kept shooting at me instead when i tried to help.
eventually he ran out of darts, i got hit twice out of the 30 shoots or so. then a sniper took him out just in time before he reloads.
and then some bad cops showed up to kidnap and/or kill the queen so we had to escape to my other apartment in hk. then the team from csi (lv) showed up and they were trying to break their way in.
we found a way out to the back alley and we ran from there to a main street. got onto a cab and zoomed away to Nathan road where there's lots of people as cover.
then i decided to wake up 'cause i find it very confusing.
and i had to do some last minute practising before heading out to Peterborough.

happenings

did some late night grocery shopping with my mum tonight.
when we go to a grocery store, we go CRAZY.
my dad wasn't feeling well, so he demanded to stay while we ga-ga in the store.
i bought myself a nice old coconut. took me about 10 minutes to get it opened.
the water was kind of salty. would much rather prefer the young coconut juice instead.
it was fun cracking open that shell. took a while to fully clean off everything to pure whiteness though.
my mum was wondering why the heck i would buy such a difficult to eat food.... o well..
now the fun part is finding a recipe where i can cook with the meat.

today i did quite a lot of the copying work.
but looking at really bad handwritten music is very, very tiring.
only managed to put in about half of the first movement in the full score.
gosh... i'm gonna have nightmares tonight with ugly notation whipping me with their excess body parts.

speaking about sleeping, i was on the aid for 2 nights straight.
i think i should increase the dosage to 1 instead of half when i come back from Peterborough.
it didn't really do anything for me...
could it be because it's a Life Brand?

pledging myself better habits

starting from tonight, my latest sleep time is midnight.
right now i have 30 more minutes to go before hitting the sack.
so i'm gonna take a sleeping aid to make sure that happens.

gotta get my stuff ready for tomorrow.
gonna head up to Aurora to meet a client for deposit.
before that i'd have to go downtown with my dad to renew his retail license.
and i'll make sure to get my free mug of starbucks coffee - in Aurora, for a shorter lineup.

got a sad news from my parents today...
my favourite korean bbq restaurant has closed down =(

east to west, and back

sadly the response of the panel from the ESO audition was that "no one really stood out".
they decided not to let anyone advance to the 2nd round, meaning they're not hiring at this national round.
fuck, gotta find money to go to the international round.

this is a real wake up call.
i need to prepare a lot better for the next one.
truly a money burning trip.

it was a nice place though, Edmonton.
but too bad it's still rather brown everywhere.
i can imagine it being very beautiful in the summer when there's more greenery.
plus i didn't know they can see the northern lights there as well!
wow, that must be cool.

the flights.. omg.
Toronto to Calgary was scary. so much turbulence.
not only the plane was swinging up and down, but also side to side.
almost dizzied myself looking out the window.
horrible pilots too.
then Calgary to Edmonton was even more scary.
'cause i couldn't fit my case in there. not only the overhead compartment, but also underneath.
good thing the flight attendance was nice enough to store it at the crew's stowaway.
it was a jazz flight. the only cool thing about it was that it's a pretty cool looking plane ('cause it's small and old) with propellers that you can see at the side - horrible to sit above.
and we get to actually go outside the runway to board the plane, just like the movies.

now, back to reality.
time to unpack and repack.
note to self: need to buy shampoo and body wash.

no internet till thursday... can i survive?

watched Departures with my parents tonight.
it's a very touching movie, i like it!
totally recommend it to all...

heading out to Edmonton tomorrow.
hope i can survive the connecting flight at calgary.
it's gonna be a 6hr commute 'cause i can't afford direct.
last i checked it was $800 on AC with direct.

new additions

just got some new stuff to watch when i'm back from all the madness.
Afterlife - a paranormal series from bbc few years back.
Departures - the new japanese funeral service related movie.
Botched - a german thriller/horror/comedy/gore
and a dozen or so movies that i haven't watched but already obtained.

a watch out - Alien Apocalypse.
DO NOT approach. small scale movie with some quite bad directing and acting.
the reason why i downloaded it was because Bruce Campbell was in it.
bad choice.

Elfen Lied

i'm so happy!
finally got my hands on the complete Elfen Lied manga.
it's a really good story, and i've read all of it just now.
i was surprised at the end 'cause they've changed the ending in the anime.
i like the one in the manga a lot better, gives a much more explained closure.
one of these days i'm gonna rewatch the anime.
although it's bloodily violent.

day of madness

so happy to finally play on a wooden bow.
now that the puncture wound from my right index is almost healed, i can jam it hard with my lovely Wanka.
i think i need some new rosin too. my old one is drying out quick.
hmm.. another $50 down the drain.

those fucking spicy hot chicken did some magic.
totally blast my M out today and almost made me regurgitate my brunch.
it's THAT powerful.
got a second go at it later during the day, after washing away most of the redness.
still rather smoking hot.
maybe i'll advise not to order that unless u wanna suicide.
but it's really tasty. i love the sweetness of it.

yes, it's 5am and i'm still here.
that's because my M made me took a 4-5 hrs nap during what should be dinner time.
but my dad went out for midnight shopping - sale at 11pm in zellers.
we've got a steam mop! hurray!
and thus we had dinner at around 11:45pm when i finally came to.
also realized i've stained my sheets. ugh. first time in a while.
now i should go back to bed and wake again in a few hours to work on that new hair on my sweet sweet wooden bow.
